Not what I expected

I thought this would make my lamp glow in different colors, but it only works with the bulb that's already in the lamp. It basically just turns the lamp on and off with different color settings, but it doesn't actually change the color of a regular bulb. You need a smart bulb for that. So it's just a smart plug with a built-in color mood light? Confusing.
